The Playwright is home to an eclectic crew from across Athrova.
Solin Grave appeared on the Meretic Sea in 662 with a considerable amount of gold; the kind of gold that makes people eager to not ask any questions. Almost surely an alias, nobody really knows what (or who) Grave was running from when he commissioned the Playwright from the legendary pirate and shipwright Aureabem and enlisted a handful of crew from the safe port Dunnloch.
Since then, the crew has changed greatly until it became what it is today.
Human Wizard, Carpenter
Aureabem, the ship's carpenter, shipwright, and theurgist, is a legendary pirate. He has been a pirate for more than 50 years and happens to currently be quite far into losing his mind.
He is covered in tattoos of theurgic diagrams he has long since forgotten the mechanisms of.
Dryad Bard, Quartermaster
Chirp was meant, like all caretaker Dryads, to establish and care for a grove alongside their bonded nomad. Clearly, and tragically, that did not happen. Chirp now rouses the crew with their prosthetic arm which doubles as an Etochor, a traditional Orumian instrument.
Chirp often communes with wisps, echoes of the wills of those who have passed, and the wisps inhabit Chirp's branches.
Seerbolg Monk, Bosun
Rhu'zeal awakened under the Rune of Agoreon. The Court of Agoreon is known across Athrova for its association with good fortune in sailing and commerce. Rhu'zeal dutifully served their court for decades until it asked one last thing of them; to die and allow their essence to be reabsorbed by the Runestone.
Rhu'zeal, disillusioned by the Court's callous treatment of them and terrified for their life, escaped on the sea and created a new life, using the boons of his Court to keep a tight ship aboard the Playwright.
Human Artificer/Pugilist, Deckhand
Éimhín was born in the war-torn land of Kifty, fighting stray dogs and unscrupulous mercenaries for the scraps to survive. He had a brief stint with the Revolution, using a rudimentary knowledge of explosives to try to drive mercenaries and bandits away from his country.
After blowing a massive hole in the hull of a Tehrni mercenary vessel, Éimhín fled Kifty aboard the Playwright, where he finally felt free for the first time in his 19 years.
